MARCH 18, 1960 – 8:00 P.M. FRIDAY – TALK SLIDES
Mr. B. B. Warfield, Director of Training for the U. S. Information Agency, will speak on his recent trip to Texas, with information on choice birding areas, and housing, for those who may wish to plan a similar trip.
Miss Helen Goldstick, who will be our hostess for this meeting, will show some new color slides taken on recent birding trips.

APRIL 2, 1960- 10:00 A.M. SATURDAY TALK WITH SLIDES FEEDERS
Mr. Harry K. Bourne will speak on “Birds of the Shetland Islands,” with slides. Our host, Mr. Arthur Fast, assures us of his usual fine showing of birds close at hand at his many feeders, with the possibility of Evening Grosbeaks.

APRIL 29-30, 1960 ANNUAL MEETING OF VIRGINIA SOCIETY OF ORNITHOLOGY
Bridgewater College, Bridgewater, Virginia. The 1960 Annual Meeting of the Parent Organization will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30, 1960. There will be talks, slides and movies on Friday afternoon and evening (2 to 10 P.M.) and a field trip on Saturday. Bridgewater College is in the Shenandoah Valley on Route 42 just South of Harrisonburg, about 130 miles from Washington. If you are interested in attending call, the Eikes or the Watsons for further information.
MAY 14, 1960-8:00 A.M. SATURDAY WALK PICNIC LUNCH
Mr. and Mrs. William Babcock have invited the group to make another visit to their home, Rockhaven, near Sterling, for a walk through a large area of widely varied habitats. Bring picnic lunch; your host and hostess will provide the beverage.
DIRECTIONS: West from Falls Church on Route 7, through Dranesville, about one-half mile beyond intersection with Route 637; just beyond a “Form stone” house on the left you will see the Babcock sign at their lane on the left side of Route 7 (their mail box is on the right supported by a large welded chain). Turn left here and go about 3/5 mile to their home. Their phone: Herndon 66 W-3.
MAY 28, 1960-5:00P.M. FIELD TRIP
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Rothery have invited us to their summer home on the Potomac and will lead us on a field trip to observe the large population of Bald Eagles nearby. Although the Eagle trip will get under way no later than 5 P.M. the Rotherys will be glad to have members arrive earlier (any time after 1:00 Ρ.Μ.) to take advantage of the many excellent opportunities to observe other birds in the area bring your picnic supper and count on a pleasant social visit at the Rotherys after the Eagle trip.
DIRECTIONS: Down Shirley Highway to the Lornton cutoff, then follow the signs to the entrance to Gunston Hall. Continue following signs to Hallowing Point. At the entrance to Hallowing Point, keep LEFT to river (a distance of two blocks), then turn RIGHT to the parking area, which will be just before the fourth house on the river. DUES: If you have not already paid your 1960 dues, please remit to Dr. R. J. Watson, 906 No. Wayne Street, Apt. 1, Arlington, Va., or pay at one of the meetings. Dues are 75¢ for adults, 50¢ for junior memberships, and are used only to cover costs of printing programs, stationery, mailing costs and Chapter dues to the “parent” society, the Virginia Society of Ornithology.
